Join us for an evening that will fill you with joy, pride, and inspiration as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1960 Olympic Games, hosted by coach Ed Temple, Rafer Johnson, and Ralph Boston and David Maraniss, presented by Fifth Third Bank.
David Maraniss, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of the New York Times bestseller Rome 1960: The Olympics that Changed the World, will interview Olympic guests of honor about the highlights of their famed athletic careers under the leadership of Coach Temple.
Coach Temple is delighted to welcome a roster of distinguished gold medal Olympians to this event, including decathlete Rafer Johnson and fellow teammate Ralph Boston, together with Tigerbelles Barbara Jones-Slater, Lucinda Williams, and Martha Hudson. Proceeds from the event benefit the Ed Temple Fund at New Hope Academy, providing opportunities for underprivileged students to soar into a bright future, thus passing on the legacy of Coach Temple to a new generation of champions-in-the-making.
